Fresno Works Advances Through High Speed Rail Authority Process
Heavy Maintenance Facility Could Bring Thousands of Jobs to Area
Supervisor Henry Perea with Lee Ann Eager, COO of EDC and others from the Fresno Works group are in Sacramento right now attending the California High Speed Rail Authority Board Meeting. They just received great news for the Fresno County area:
The Fresno Works proposal, the local effort to bring the California High Speed Rail Authority’s heavy maintenance facility to Fresno County, has been advanced through to the next round. Today the Authority narrowed down the proposals between Fresno and Bakersfield, taking that list from eight to four. The Authority has yet to make a determination on the proposals made north of Fresno.
“The Fresno Works effort is an unprecedented collaboration between government, business and labor,” Supervisor Perea said. “This unique collaboration has just moved one step closer to bringing thousands of jobs to Fresno County. We are thrilled, to say the least.”
